Optimus V Battery Drain

I've had three instances of the battery in my new Optimus V draining completely down shortly after a full charge. I suspect there is an app or other function still running when I think it is in sleep mode. Very frustrating, I didn't realize I had a dead phone til I went to work this morning without a charger. I have seen reviews of the Optimus V complaining about the battery life, but I think this is unusual.

Is there a way I can check to make sure nothing is draining the battery? Thanks all for your review.

I will show you how to save your battery...

I was wondering the same thing(WTF is happening to my battery?) once I got the Optimus V and installed CM7 Mod...

Here are a few simple tips to really save your battery. Before I did this my Optimus would go from 100% down to 50% or so within a few hrs... Now I only have to charge every day or so..

First, use Power Control Widget or another version from the Market to switch your Data on/off whenever you need or use it.. Trust me this will save you hours of battery...

The Two vertical arrows are the data switch..

If you have a custom rom, use User Profiles in SetCPU to something similar to what I have below...

I set a low cpu clock for when my screen is off...

Seeing that you are here in these forums, I'm going to assume you have rooted and flashed a custom rom. In such a case, you should have wiped not only cache, dalvik cache, and user data, but also your battery stats. If you do not then you are bound to run into the exact issue you are facing. I would reboot into custom recovery and do this now, and your problem should be fixed I would think.
