Opting out of ads question

Recently I've been getting intrusive ads on the home hub of my device, I think it's connected to the internet app, it asked if I wanted to 'opt out', I put in my IMEI number opted out, but I'm still getting ads. Does this take time to happen, or is this some sort of virus? I'm really getting sick of bloatware and crap like this being forced on the consumer, first Samsung restrict us from using the fonts we want, and forcing us to pay for their very limited selection, and now this. A phone is supposed to be a personal device, and I bought an android phone for the ability to personalise it how I want /rant over.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The ads come from an app you installed, not the internet app. I have it and use it from time to time and it doesn't have ads. Common culprits adding ads to phones are the ever popular but useless ram booster and speed booster apps. They bring ads and slow your phone down. Go Apps like Go SMS and Go Launcher also has intrusive ads unless you pay the monthly premium. ES File Explorer is another ap laded program.

Ah, it must be ES File Explorer, I'd rather buy a premium version than have ads on my phone. I think I'll use another file manager instead. Thanks for the help!

Ugh, the ads are still appearing, is there any apps out there that can detect which app is making ads appear? They are popping up every minute practically.

Damn, this has made me very worried now since I gave this website my IMEI number, thinking it was connected to a legitimate Samsung app...
