options for recovering videos?

Hi

I moved some video files off my phone , they weren't stored on an SD card but on the phone itself in the phone's DCIM folder.

My phone is rooted.

I heard that undelete software on an unrooted phone, can only recover cached images, not videos.

What are my options?

Note- I understand that rooting can require unlocking the boot loader and that can erase data. What is the situation with the Moto G7 Power?

Those apps don't really do much, rooted or unrooted, to be honest. If the files were deleted recently you MIGHT get lucky, but most of the time, yes, only cached files are recoverable. Unless there's a previous-state backup (be it physical or in the cloud), your options, I'm afraid, are pretty slim. Sorry.

Did you happen to have Google Photos set to auto-backup your photos and videos?
