Options while waiting for Project Fi

Broke my old phone, decided to order the Nexus 5x. It arrived, but I just requested a Project Fi invite recently and haven't gotten any update on when I'll get that access.

Should I use T-Mobile for a month since they don't have a contract while I wait for Fi? I could just wait but like I said my old phone is broken right now I'm just using a old spare flip...
