Ordering a non-manufacturer's battery for my smartphone...

So I am wondering if ordering a 7,000mAh battery for my Samsung Galaxy Note 3
would work if the manufacturer (Samsung) has a ~3,000mAh battery in this thing.
The Chinese but reputable seller (over 200 sold?) on Ebay says its compatible with
the Galaxy Note 3 (doesn't even mention other phones).
I think I've heard stories of phones melting due to battery issues, though not sure if
its over mAh differences in particular (but i.e. you stuck a Motorola whatever's battery
which is physically oversized into this LG whatever phone).
