I have always gone to buy new phones in person because there's something satisfying about doing that, however the studentrate deal that's been flying around has made me think about ordering the epic from Sprint online (I did what they said on the discount page, and just got a conformation email from sprint saying that I now have a 15% monthly discount on my bill! I'm surprised that worked honestly).

I haven't ordered the epic or anything because you can't yet (as far as I can tell) They say overnight shipping is free, and I was wondering, if you pre-order/order online, does that mean it'll ship to you the day after the phone is released, or they'll get it to you the day the phone is released?

I already asked this on their forum right here

Phone will arrive in your hands on September 1 and they're looking into whether there'll be preorders. I told him he should ship the phones out on August 30th so we get them Day 1, I guess they'll figure out if that's possible.

Either way, saving $75 PLUS the free Invisible Shield is absolutely worth the 1 day wait anyways.

Just so I have this straight, we have to wait to order the phone on studentrate.com until it is actually released on August 31. Then it will be mailed to us overnight so we have it September 1st? Unless of course they are able to take pre-orders right?

Well yeah... you have to wait until it's out unless you can preorder. But dude on studentrate's forums said he would find out today if preorders will be possible with the StudentRate discounts.

Ok great. I know it was kind of a dumb question but I have been wanting this phone for a while now and just wanted to make sure I can get it as cheap as possible as soon as possible. Thanks for the info.

For sure dude. I'll be sure to post here as soon as dude from StudentRate gives any updated info.

This post from dude at StudentRate says they will offer Preorder tomorrow. So far all I know is we can preorder tomorrow and they'll ship it to you on the 31st, will arrive on Sept 1st.

Gonna try to talk him into trying to talk Sprint into giving them the phones a day early so we can get Day 1.

And nobody's been preordering yet. If any of you have a .edu email address, you should do this for sure.

$75 extra discounts, 15% discount off monthly bill (before the $10 4G fee unfortunately), and a free Invisible Shield (or car charger).

Hey Cr3amy, I registered on student rate and found the link and coupon code. Do I just go through the link to sprint and just fill out the forms? It says I have to email my coupon code too on the advertisement. Do I do that after I' finished with the forms? Who do I give the preorder forms to? TIA!

Sprint Samsung Epic 4G StudentRate Member Discount - Student Rate

Gotta download the .pdf from the forums on that link and email the filled out form to the email address he says to ( epic@studentrate.com ). He said once you do that, they'll hold a phone for you.

Once you get a new phone and new/upgraded service, you then follow the instructions about emailing Studentrate.com about it and they'll send you the gifts and rebates.

Basically: go to that link, fill out the pdf form (which you'll see asks for your preferred plan), email it to them ---- all of this is instead of buying it through the Sprint site.

Then, once you get the phone: go to the Student Rate Epic Deal Page and follow the instructions to get all the extra goodies.

Im confused about how to fill out that form if I am just upgrading and not creating a new account.

Edit: never mind, new lines only.

But you only get the $75 if you are opening a new account, right?

Sorry, he made a new thread and I didn't realize it:

Click here for the new thread

This deal is for both upgrades and new accounts. In the third post in that thread he explains what to do if you're doing an upgrade. I think you basically just put that you're getting an upgrade somewhere in the pdf form, along with your name, phone number, and billing address, and which free thing you want. Then in the body of the email write your account number & password.

Also, they said that for everybody who's doing this, Sprint will call for your credit card info "within a couple days" of getting the form, although I don't know when it'll be charged.

Lol, I feel like they should start paying me. Whatever, I'm tryin to get everyone here hooked up.

Would about for someone that is paying full price because they aren't eligible for an upgrade?

Doubt this would apply to you. Companies like this make their money from the commission from Sprint for signing people up for a year or two.

Thanks Cr3amy, I wasn't able to save the PDF file so I just copied it and put it in the body of the email filled out. You think that would be okay?
