I've been reading posts in a number of forums about the worse battery life with Oreo on the S8. I'd like to do a poll.

Mine has been little to no change on Oreo. If anything, I believe it's a little better. Definitely not worse.

I've been getting roughly 5 hours SOT once I've hit 15%. it's a little bit better for me

Not much difference after doing a factory reset, but my battery was before that, so...

My s8 is 4 days old and my God, a full battery goes to 30% within 3 hours. Display is lowest setting, power is set to normal (not gamer or performance), screen shut off is the lowest. Literally every thing is set to minimum and I'm not running graphic intense things at all.... This is a typical Android for me sadly. Batteries last between 3 hrs and sometimes as disgustingly fast as 100 to 20 in 45 minutes.

Also One to two bars of 3g if I'm lucky, but that happens to me even when I'm in a huge city, no matter the phone.

just reset it!

Reset and still crap. In 2 hours I've gone from 91% to 78%. I've not been on it but maybe a few minutes from time to time. I give up lol

Mine has not improved either. Wiped cache and didn't seem to make a difference. I will try a reset when I get time. In the meantime, I have a battery case on it.

Wish google would let GSAM monitor individual apps so that I could see what is actually killing it.

I've had terrible battery life since I updated to Oreo as well. Here's a screenshot of my battery today. I've barely used the phone and it's dropped over 55%. The Android system has consumed 97% of the power used since I took it off the charger this morning. Before Oreo the battery wouldn't have drained anything like this from just being idle. Look to see if you are having any sync issues. I had this problem once when for whatever reason my Google Contacts just wouldn't sync and the phone just kept trying and ran down the battery.

I disabled contact sync and the issue went away. The weird thing was I could sync manually but auto-sync would hang.

Worth taking a look at.

Check here! reset it and see the difference.
