OREO update / Google Maps

Since OREO I have noticed that taping on the Google map once no longer removes the bottom menu and taping twice no longer removes search bar. So it appears there is no longer a way to get a full screen map. Hopefully I'm missing something?

Tap "Explore" on the bottom menu.
Tap the map once to minimize the menu, then tap the map again to see the full screen map.

This phone came with Oreo. Your post makes no sense since there is no period before Oreo on this phone

Sorry your correct I apologize, I have both an S8 Plus and an S9 Plus. This stopped working when in driving mode on the S8 Plus after the OREO update so obviously it did the same with the S9 Plus. But I thank UdiBerry I didn't try explore mode.

The more they "improve" Maps, the more they annoy people. Maps used to keep a pretty good list of locations that you'd gone to - that went away around version 6. Now this - yes, you can get an "almost full screen" map, but I preferred the real entire screen having just the map, no little bar on the bottom. (It's why I have about 5 versions backed up - when they "update" to something useless, I "downdate" until they change it back to being usable. (Not just Maps - many, many apps.)
