Oreo update is chewing up battery

[Android Central Question]

Since my update, amongst other annoying things my battery is being chewed up at a ridiculous rate. HTC10 was operating absolutely fine prior to.

Mine is too.
I wiped the cache and it didn't help.
see what apps are running in the background.

I've seen some reports of the latest Sense Home update causing crashes. Maybe it's related? What happens if you use a 3rd party launcher like Nova?
