Anyone know a way to get the dark theme back?

Nope. The white theme on the quick settings panel is part of stock Android on Oreo. The only way is to switch to a different launcher.

I think the quick settings theme depends on the wallpaper. Have you already tried setting a dark wallpaper?

I have used dozens of different wallpapers on Oreo and the quick settings panel is always white.

I read somewhere that Oreo 8.1 has options to make the quick settings panel match the wallpaper theme. But our phones are running 8.0 and will not see 8.1

Yeah, but it doesn't affect the settings panel.

That's probably the reason. My Moto G5S+ is running 8.1. Oh well.

Yeah, just double checked now. The dark theme matching the wallpaper was only available after 8.1.

I guess Google listened to all the critics of the white panel and changed it with 8.1. I personally like the white panel and can read it better than a dark color scheme. But it's always good to have options & choices. Our phones are on the list for Android Pie so hopefully it's still an option in Pie
