Organization of folders in Android File Transfer on Mac

Hi

I am currently using Android File Transfer on my Macbook Air (running 10.9.1) to put transfer files to my Galaxy S4 (GT-I9507 v 4.2.2). It generally transfers files to my SD card fine. However, I want to organise the folders into larger artist folders - at the moment it is just a list of album folders, as that is how I transferred it over. AFT won't let me move the folders around. I have tried Airdroid but it doesn't work that well for me - when I drag an album that is already on the SD card into an artist folder, it does copy but also leaves an empty folder in the original location (which is annoying).

Does anyone have any suggestions for how I might be able to reorganise the folders/files on my SD card, using AFT or any other program?

So Android File Transfer Does not let you organize the files and folders as you want? What about getting the files loaded onto the device and organizing from the device with a file manager? Seems a bit counter intuitive, but might be the only way to do the organization if Android File Transfer and Air Droid don't allow you to organize as you like.
