I am an AT&T customer. They are supporting the phone but not actively selling it.

Dumb question, but do I need to update the phone manually or should I be notified OTA that the update is available?

Haven't seen anything to date. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You will get the OTA just like the others if you are running stock ROM and stock recovery.

Mine rattles a little if I listen carefully while shaking it

It's not as stiff as other power buttons I've had on other phones. I don't think I need to exchange it just yet, but will continue to monitor it. Just out of curiosity, what is the exchange warranty on the Nexus 5?

I'm pretty sure that the rattle you guys are hearing is actually the camera. It has optical image stabilisation, which allows physical movement of the camera housing in order to dampen shaky movement while taking photos. This rattle is normal.

This!

My lumia 920 had the same rattle. It was worse on my lumia, the vibrate made it rattle loud. They said it was caused by the floating lenses Nokia used for stabilization.
