Had the marshmallow update ota show up and download and once I agreed to install after downloading it, it never restarted and now whenever I check for update it says I'm up to date on 5.1.1. What happened? Help?

Stock, never touched bootloader or anything. Wifi 32gb edition bought new soon after the release. In case that matters.

Which one? I tried clearing play service cache, did nothing.

Happened to me too. I installed it and it said the apps were being optimized, but it never changed to 6.0.

I know there are reports of a small ~10 mb security update that came out today.

What build is your device on? There was a security update that was pushed out at about the time you posted this thread. If you're on build LMY48M, that update didn't install...which may be a good thing. If, however, you're on build LMY48T, then the security update is installed. The good thing is that, if you're still on LMY48M, you can use the 6.0 OTA update link posted by Android Central. You may have to search for it, but it's there. If you're on LMY48T, you won't be able to use the link to update. If the security update didn't install, I wouldn't worry about it now. Just go ahead and update to Marshmallow using the OTA link.

Wish I'd read that last post an hour ago, before trying to sideload Marshmallow onto my Nexus 7 (2013) - which was updated to LMY48T about ten days ago. (I had no problems last year sideloading Lollipop.) Do I understand that there is no way of sideloading an update now and I have to wait until Google and EE in the UK decide to send me the OTA?

I'm not sure about sideloading the MM update. I don't know if the security update would prevent that. I made the mistake (?) of immediately loading the security update. So now I have to wait for the OTA or try sideloading it. I'll wait. If there are any bugs, they should be cleared up by the time they finally decide to push it out to us.
