Just got my NS4G from sprint store and its already prompting me for OTA update. My phone is on 2.3.4 and I have a feeling that new update is the one that kills hotspot function. There is no info whatsoever on what the update does.

All I see is "This update includes several minor system enhancements that address potential performance issues on your device"
Damn sneaky bastards

no, it's not. My phone immediately updated on Friday when i got it. Hotspot still works.
Android Version = 2.3.4
Baseband Version = D720SPRKD8
Build = GRj22

Was it 5.7mb download? or was it to bring it from 2.3.3 to 2.3.4?
my phone already has 2.3.4 on it so this is something else. do a manual check for updates. do you have anything new?

yes, it was 5.7mb. Yep, it was 2.3.4 to 2.3.4. nothing new "Your system is currently up to date"
:D Pull the trigger on installing it, nothing to see here

yep with 0 info :) I have to get use to updates being pushed out on regular basis

you know whats weird though, the changelog says the build is GRJ06D. My current build is GRJ22 and as i said before, I did accept and apply an OTA on Friday.

Also, nice changelog Sprint ::rolls eyes:: absolutely no info, they just acknowledge the update and tell people how to do it. Great job! How much do people that write these get paid i wonder? I could do that job

Same for me. Build didn't change after I applied the update.

ok good. They either have the wrong build number on that page or forgot to update the build.prop cause that is where the build number pulls from and i just confirmed GRJ22 in it.

Oops. Whats funny is that sales rep in sprint store warned me that hotspot is open but sprint is working on releasing an update that will require data plan feature added. and she said "if you use the hotspot feature sprint will charge you for it". I laughed and left the store

So this won't kill my hotspot functionality? Who has downloaded this and can confirm it?
