Ota - vs98027a

Waiting on the verdict from the XDA daredevils. I'm not seeing anything especially urgent or important in the list of changes. Apparently it is still rootable with the stumproot app, so that's nice.

I had a dead spot on the touchscreen, 'bottom/middle'. working better, keyboard still defective in the 'c' 'r' 'x' area

I had the same problem with my keyboard. LG sent me a new phone. My phone was under warranty.

I'm having trouble getting this OTA. I have been rooted since 024A but otherwise fully stock. I'm now running 026A - and the phone is still stock. Titanium Backup shows nothing is frozen. I even just performed a full factory reset on the phone. The phone automatically downloaded the update but says there is an error installing it because software was modified. Any ideas on how to fix this????

I had the same problem. You can update it by connecting it to your computer and running the LG Software Update utility that launches/should launch when you connect your phone.

Anyone having any issues with this yet? I just got the notice this morning and it won't let me postpone install for more than about 12 hours it appears, so hoping there are no issues. Last VZW update broke my phone (several issues, including dead zones on screen) and they had to send me a new one. Hoping to avoid similar issues.

p.s. - I saw the posts about the OTA update screen freezing, but was wondering about any issues after installation.

Mine is doing fine. The GPS is even slightly less bad. Nothing is worse as far as I can tell. Update using the cord if you can, I think it rewrites the entire system rather than just slapping an update on top like the ota, tho in my half awakening stupor upon receiving this version's update notification, I told it to update ota.

Thanks for the info. I think I'm gonna hafta do this, if for no other reason than I'm already tired of the install request screen popping up ever time I pick up my phone. ;)

Does this method always work to update... if rooted, but otherwise stock?

As long as you don't have a custom recovery it should work fine. However, I think with this method you may loose root (someone please correct me if that's wrong).

I meant to report back. I did the OTA update (sort of by accident), and it went completely smoothly. I have experienced no problems since the update, though I have not noticed any real improvements or enhancements at all. My battery life is about the same (i.e., pretty mediocre, compared with the pre-26A update performance), and I haven't really noticed any improvement in GPS signal, as someone mentioned above. Read a couple of places online that this update was "likely" to help lay the groundwork for the Lollipop roll-out. Who knows if that's true, but I'm hoping we get it sooner rather than later. Best of luck, everyone.

I think this update installed on my phone today. I pulled my phone out and it had the android with the spinning thing inside of it. When my phone restarted, it appeared to be factory reset, and this it had the VS98027A software on it. So far, other than the reset, not seeing any issues.

Turns out I lost Root after the update. Used rootchecker right after the update and it said I still had root. Tried to run CatLog yesterday to troubleshoot an app and got an error message that I did not have root. Ran RootChecker again and it said I did not have root. Ugggghhhh!
