Hunting for note 2 cases, i stumbled upon what seems to be the otterbox cases for the note 2,only the defender has a date along with it but the commuter is also listed.
Could this be legit? I thought otterbox wasnt making any statements on availability

very possible. A friend of mine owns the local sprint store and they were told oct 18th as a est. release date.

since the site is for a pre order...I would say it isn't too far fetched!
