So the OtterBox Commuter case is the daily deal today on the main page. Does anyone have this for the photon? I am considering getting it but i am worried about bulk. If it adds too much bulk to the phone I may opt to just keep it naked. I am also worried about how easy it is to put the protective film on. I am not usually very good at those kind of things so i was hoping someone could share their exerience.

thanks

I have the case, but usually don't use it. I am not a big fan of the bulk it adds to the phone. Of course I dropped my phone this weekend so maybe I should start using it more haha. The screen protector is very easy to install.

I had the Commuter but ditched it in favor of the Seidio Surface case.

The Commuter was just too bulky for me and the rubber shock-absorbing layer made it hard to get in and out of a pocket, plus it was a lint magnet. Also, I botched the screen protector, so I went with a Best Skins Ever model. I like the wet apply protectors as there's not as much pressure for it to be perfect right away. :D

I'm glad I switched as the Surface case adds very minimal bulk and it's much more "pocketable."

I have the Surface and just ordered the Commuter. The Surface seemed to slip out of my hands, I'll let you know after a week with the Commuter.

I have the Commuter case and really like it except for my AUX cable doesn't fully connect to my phone. The case stops it from connecting all the way, but this isn't a huge problem as I ordered the Samsung Galaxy 4.0 mp3 player to use for all my music needs :)

Besides that, I don't have any issues with the Commuter case at all. It doesn't feel too bulky or heavy to me.

Otterbox makes excellent screen protectors which are easy to apply.

Unless you're VDub2174......LOL

I always have issues putting on screen protectors. It always ends up becoming an epic battle and always results in me being tangled in the screen protector :p

I have had the OtterBox Commuter case for just under 2 months and absolutely love it. I bought it on Amazon for ~$25 shipped. The Photon with the Commuter case is not bulky at all to me and fits in my front pants/shorts pocket comfortably. My previous phone was the orig HTC MyTouch and I only used a gel protector on it similar to the inner layer of the Commuter. I love the double layer of protection the Commuter gives as well as the gel flaps for the ports. The included screen protector was pretty simple to install (for me). I am sure there are better screen protectors out there (that show less smudging) but the included one works and I didn't have to purchase an additional one.

I did drop my Photon last week and the Commuter did its job like a champ. It was the same distance drop I did to an Evo3D I was trying out without a protector which caused some serious cosmetic damage to the phone's shell around the screen... which I returned within the 30 days.

Summary: I highly recommend the Otterbox Commuter

Side note: I had also ordered the TPU Case from another vendor on Amazon at the same time as the Commuter purchase because it was so cheap (~$9 +shipping) but unfortunately it never shipped. The Commuter is perfect for me so I had Amazon cancel the TPU Case rather than attempt to reship.
