Otterbox Defender Broken?

So, I've tried just about every type of case for this phone. Liked the diztronic/platinum one at first but it scratched the back of my phone from too snug a fit.

Traded it in for the otterbox defender and like it a lot. Thing is, the first one got a hairline break close to where the screen protector meets the hard plastic. Exchanged it for a new one, but ran into a new issue. One that affected every case at my local best buy.

I don't have another camera other than my phone, so I can't take a pic. There's a factory mold mark that makes it so the case creaks near the top of the phone when u press it. Basically, the case doesn't close snugly enough.

We tried 4 different ones at best buy trying to get one that closed correctly, but no dice. I'm wondering if anyone else ran into this problem?

I also get phantom scratches on the screen protector. Guess better that than the phone. But it is a $50 case at best buy. That's 1/3 what I paid for the phone itself.

Maybe I will just keep taking it back every month hoping for a fresh batch.

My otterbox defender for my nexus creaks as well. But only since I put the extended battery in it. If your phone is stock then exchange it. With the stock battery it should fit snug. When mine broke there was no hassle getting a replacement from otter box.

Otterbox has excellent customer service. Go to their website call the 1-800 number tell Em its broke and they will send you another one. When I made my claim I didn't even have to send proof of purchase or even return the broken unit as proof.

I don't care what kind of phone you use, that's not how I judge someone's worth or intelligence. Sent using tapatalk 2.

I bought mine from Verizon but they had no issues replacing at no charge to me.

Mine creaks too. Never thought much of it. I am bothered by the fact that the rubber tab that covers the charging port fell off since I do enjoy picture taking at the beach.

I'm sitting here reading this trying to make mine creak, nothing, mine is fine, I love the way the cut out is for the kickstand, that's where I rest my index finger while scrolling with my thumb, feels like its locked in! Love it

I emailed them about the clip on my holster breaking, and they sent me not 1, but 2 replacement holsters! Their CS is top notch in my opinion.
