Let us know how you like it, I'll probably get one as well. My phone won't be here until 2025 apparently lmao

I want a Defender for my Pixel XL also. With the Note 7, I noticed that the Defenders were always sold out (on Amazon and Otterbox.com) or unavailable. Do Defenders for new phones tend to sell out? Or do you think they will be readily available? I'm tempted to order, but I am not expecting my Pixel XL until end of November. By the time I get the phone, the return period for the case will have passed and what if (big if), I don't like the Pixel XL?

I got the defender in earlier today. I got excited for a minute....thrn sad because I still have to wait for the phone. The case seems of the usual sturdy Otterbox quality and as usual will add some bulk to the phone. But the bulk doesnt bother me when I know my phone will be protected.

So I got the case a few days ago and the phone was delivered this morning. Yes, as usual the case will add some bulk to the phone. It's not a big deal to me, but I can see how some people would not like the extra size and weight. But it does make me feel much more comfortable knowing if my brand new baby does take a fall it should be good...

I hope it's better than the galaxy s7 defender case. That case fit the phone so loose that anytime I picked it up, the case flexed and creaked. Hated it.

How is the built in screen protector? Is the touch sensitivity problematic like with most of the Defenders? Would you recommend removing the built in and replacing with a tempered glass one?

I thought about removing it and getting a tempered glass one, but I wanted to give it a chance first. This one seems pretty good. I haven't noticed any lag or any issues with the built in protector yet. There also doesn't seem to be much, if any, space between the protector and the actual screen. I've had other ones before where that wasn't the case. Overall, I'm very happy with this case.

Thanks for your input! I'm definitely going to order the Defender for mine. I'm sad that my Pixel XL isn't coming for another month....

Holy sweet mother of..... I just picked up the Defender for the XL at a VZW store - it's huge. I also have the Cruzerlite A2 for the XL on order. The Defender IMO might be just a bit too grippy. Obviously once the phone gets here (on Tues 25th), I'll get a better feel for it. I usually get the commuter, but I wanted max protection this time - everything is a trade off I guess. I may need new pants to rock this gigantic case.

You're right, it is a bit bulky. But I dropped it in my office yesterday....I had a heart attack for about 1 second.....then I picked it up, dusted it off and went back to what I was doing. And I'm that guy....who like a holster or something on my belt to keep my phone in there, so that comes in handy too.

Got the Defender - This really is a bulky case. I knew that going in though.

Makes the phone very wide - won't fit in my car dock. Also the built in screen protector, while it fits OK and looks good, doesn't feel very good while typing - it's almost "squeaky". Other than those issues, it has great grip and feels good on the ear (this is a pet peeve of mine with cheaper cases - dig into my ear). It's a handsome case looks good in black with the black pixel XL. Obviously the drop protection will be out if this world, as it should be with a monster this big.

The side buttons are a slight bit hard to press. Hoping that loosens up a little with time. The flaps and all cutouts look and work well, though I usually cut the flaps off to make it easier to plug stuff in -- I'm keeping them on this time for now.

I think eventually I'll rip out the built in plastic protector for tempered glass.

Overall this is what you expect from OtterBox. It may be extreme, but IMO the Pixel XL is too expensive to take any chances. I have a Cruzerlite A2 on order which I'll use for just inside and around my home office. Out in the world, this Defender will protect it well.

Picked up the Commuter. Not as big as the defender and no built in protector or holster but plenty of drop protection. Now I just need my intelliarmor tempered glass screen protector and I am good to go!

What glass screen protector do you think would work with the Defender, if you remove the built in screen protector? I'm trying to figure out if any can fit with the Defender, since it covers the bezel.

Should work - the hard shell that the phone actually sits in has some play.

I ordered the Defender in Borealis (teal) for my XL. Got my XL delivered finally yesterday and put the Defender right on it. I really like the case (Defenders are my fav always), but the Borealis color was dirty and had black marks after just a few hours of putting it on. I don't recall having the dirt issue with my light gray Defender for my Note 4. I do not recommend the Borealis color at all. I can only imagine how dirty it would look after weeks or months. I am returning and getting black instead.

For those that have the Defender for the XL, are you experiencing Newton Rings/rainbow effect with your case? I definitely have the "oil slicks" Newton Rings on my built in screen protector. Wondering if others do as well. I'm pretty sure I'm going to remove the built in and replace with a Yootech glass screen protector.

Although I don't have my pixel XL yet just looking at cases I thought the OtterBox Defender was too big.
I've had great success with I blason and supcase in the past great protection and one third of the cost of an OtterBox

Go over to Amazon and type in armorbox pixel XL in the search field and it will come up 16.99 for the black case and free shipping they also have a blue and black and a white and black
