Outer Speaker is bad after hard reset?

I just bought a new phone and was thinking of selling my HTC EVO 4G. It's in a very good condition and I never had an issue with it. After I did a hard reset, the loud speaker turned really bad. It's muffled and robotic. I never had an issue with it before, so what would be the cause of this?

Isn't the EVo notorious for crappy speakers?

I have replaced my external and internal speaker and a week later the external was crap again.

I disagree. My EVO's speakers are loud enough to hear when sitting outside. Compared to my Asus Transformer's speaker atleast. Hubby & I started watching Kevin Hart on Netflix on the Transformer and gave up. I opened it up on my og EVO and the sound was easy to hear compared to the TF101.

It's the og EVO speaker's that keeps me from 'upgrading' to the new EVO LTE or the S3. Well, maybe also because the og EVO still does everything I need. Why sign a new contract and pay $99-199?
