OUTPUT HDMI using VPlayer?

Heyy all--

Normally, when I download movies or TV shows, they are in AVI format. Obviously, the stock video player doesn't play AVI formatted videos.

However, the third party app VPlayer DOES play AVI videos. I would like to be able to utilize the HDMI out w/ VPlayer to project these AVI videos onto my HDTV.

Is this possible? Has anyone had any success using apps BESIDE the stock video app with HDMI-out?

No. Only particular apps can use the HDMI output.

Please do a search about this. I'm sure there have been threads about this many times before.

I did search. Officially, people say that only stock photos and stock video can work. However, some people have reported that TV.com works with HDMI out, even though it's not one of the officially supported apps.

Just seeing if anyone has had a similar experience with VPlayer before I shell out for a dock.

I can confirm that TV.com works with HDMI, as well as MediaFly. I'm gonna download VPlayer now and see if it works on my HDMI

Another Question Mark is RockPlayer. Some people have had success and others haven't... Mind trying it out while you're at it Jerzyiroc?

Apps have to specifically add an API call for them to support the HDMI output. It's up to each app developer.
