Over 300 apps in Thunderbolt? Starting to have problems.

Well, I know that this is a lot of apps. I remember the old days with the Droid Incredible being able to install apps until you would start having problems with space in phon estorage.
Well, with the TB now half of my apps are showing as not installed. Icons on screen remain as the standard green icons and when I click on them I get the message that app is not installed in device.
Also, when I go to settings, manage applications, phone gets stuck for a long time showing 'computing' next to each app. It never completes the process.
Any one with more than 300 apps? I do not believe I would be the only one Loco.

I've found that moving apps to sd card helped me with this issue. I also had problems with apps not updating, I turned the phone off, pulled the sd card, rebooted and updated fine. I then obviously rebooted and put the SD card back in. There seems to be an issue with apps installed on the SD card I've found with my phone, it's weird.

Have you ever cleared your cache?

Yes I know, over 300 is a lot, just like to try apps.
I tried to clear the cache but phone is not letting me.
Mordecaidrake, I will do that when I get home.

I would definitely uninstall any apps you have "tried," but no longer use. Also, check and see which are the largest in application size and memory usage and try clearing the data for any of them for which it is appropriate. Also check to see how many of them are set to start when the phone does, or run in the background.

Other than that, three hundred apps are still going to be three hundred apps -- at a point, it will begin to slow down your phone.

MyToolBox could help you with the uninstall process and cache and data clearing. ZDBox will show you how many, and what apps are running.

I love you for having 300 apps. :D

It is all about love at this android web site :)

Also, I was trying to push the TB to see how much it can handle.
I have all the apps in external memory card, the ones that can be moved there.

yeah i notice that the thunderbolt is not as smooth as the incredible with sense..as i have 1200 texts with one person on the thunderbolt it would freeze like no tomorrow, and on the incredible i would have 2000 and would lagg just a little. they need to up their game with the thunderbolt!! SERIOUSLY!!!

That may be part of the problem. When I had an EVO, I had to put everything on the SD card due to limited space (constantly running out), and it would occasionally act up.

With the Thunderbolt, I have even more apps loaded (at about 200 user apps according to Titanium Backup), and I generally keep everything in internal memory. The Thunderbolt has enough memory that moving things onto the SD card will probably cause more problems than any benefits you might receive (plus the internal memory is faster anyways). With those 200 apps, I still have about 1.6GB free (more than the EVO had free with no user apps).

Well, the problem was that there were many applications running in the background and I was running out of memory. Even HTC Sense was giving me errors that it stopped working and if I wanted to wait or kill the app. With so many apps, it is easy to have many of them running all the time :( and you will need to keep a close eye on them.
