overclock new update?

im rooted with unrevoked 3.21 and i have the new update installed, but i cant get setcpu to overclock over 998 or under 245. does anyone have any suggestions for a newb?

Wouldn't overclocking it make the battery drain faster? Did it work before the update? If it did then maybe they need to update the app to the new update. Something could be interfearing with the app. You might need to address this issue with the app developer if nobody can offer any help here. Best of luck to ya.

ya it did used to work before the update and ill send the developer a message and ask him

It's because the update put an HTC kernel back onto your device. You must have a custom kernel to overclock.

yeah you can but they would be modified versions of the old htc kernel..

its best to wait for modified versions of the new htc kernel without the fps cap and what not

The stock rom has perflock enabled. i.e. the cpu is locked at a specific frequency. custom roms usually have the perflock disabled so you can UC/OC.

ya well i even tried to disable perflock on setcpu and it didnt work
