Now that I've gotten into this tinkering mode more and more. Learned how to back up and SBF. And now that the full 2.2SBF is out...

How long till they find a way to over clock/under volt 2.2?

Count me in when it comes out. I saw the title of the thread and jumped. It seems like we are doing a lot of waiting with our Droid X.

To answer your question, I have no idea.

From what I gather that damn boot loader is stopping custom kernals. But I know on 2.1 there was a way people were doing it with out changing the kernals.... I would hope someone comes up with something like that for 2.2.. fast.

If I were to post my most recent battery usage page, on leaked 2.2 without any undervolts (obviously), I'm sure you guys would think otherwise about the necessity of undervolting the phone.

Let's just say, 1d 19h off the charger, at 100% :P yes I only made 10 minutes of voice calls and had the display on for 20 minutes, but its still unbelievable to me lol

Here ya go:

I thought I took screenshots later on at the 1d 19h mark, but I guess I didn't. Oh well I ended up going just under 1d 20h's before my battery finally tipped over to 90%.

Imo this is proof that my theory of "battery says 90%, could really be 81-90%" is true. There's no way my battery was at a solid 100% for almost 2 days straight. Idle or not, its not possible. So this tells me that it had to hit 90% finally after almost 2 days.

But yeah, battery life on this phone is excellent. Undervolting is really not necessary.

What's your set up. I take a 10 min call and drop to 90%.

This is what I do with my car. I filled it up a month ago and parked it. My gas bill this month has been soooo low! :p

So what your saying is I should pour gas on the phone cause it seems to keep the car full? I guess that's better than charging it daily.

Yes. Plus if you want really want your phone to fly use the high octane stuff. Thats where the real overclocking is at.

I'm not going to try it. I feel there's no reason to risk anything. If anyone does try it and it works, let me know and I'll post the tutorial.

All this to be stable at a extra 100/150mhz, not worth it. That small bump in speed wouldn't be noticeable IMHOP...............

I gave it a whack, and works like a charm. The method is almost identical to the 2.1 version, and it definitely smoothed out heavy load situations. I like!
