Hey everyone!

I was wondering what settings I should use when I download the OverclockWidget. Should I leave it as is or should I change it up a bit. If so, what settings should I use?

I'm running Ubuntdroid on my Optimus.

Thanks!

Well I'am running nROM and over-clock at 824 I would not dare go higher because I hear it is unstable past this point. But all cpu's vary and your's might be weaker or stronger. I use Setcpu and use the "on boot" setting.

I use SetCPU and find that underclocking 122-600 (OnDemand) does amazing things to my battery life. Spends about 85% of cycles at 122, with no problems stepping back up.

I know this isn't what the thread is about but figured it was worth mentioning.

I suggest that you do NOT use the on boot check box until you have ran your cpu at that frequency for at least a day or 2. And make sure to set up profiles, this will also increase battery life.
Which program are you using?
I purchased setCPU works great.
My settings are as follows(these may or may not work for you):
Main
max:729600
min:122880
Scaling:eek:n demand

Profile Temp>26 Deg. Celsius
Checked audible warning
max:480000
min:122880
scaling: performance(not sure about scaling here)
priority:91%

Screen Off Profile
max:480000
min:122880
scaling:eek:n demand
priority:58%

Charging Profile
max:729600
min:122880
scaling:eek:n demand
priority:50%

battery< profile
battery< 10%
max:480000
min:122880
scaling: powersave
priority:75%

Defiantly figure out your max frequency 1st.
Then stay just under that frequency.
This way your not going to have to deal with lockups/freeze when your working the CPU hard.
!!Battery life is very important!!
Try to optimize it.
Even though your phone will go that fast doesn't mean you need it to, even though your car will do a 100mph does that mean it is good for it to stay floored all the time?
You just want it to run smooth and snappy through your normal activities.
To many people think Overclocking is for the fastest it will go.
Overclocking is a slow process find out where your phone is and workup one at a time. Once you start to get lockups or screen goes out I usually try it one more time and if it doesn't work I take two steps back and try it for a couple of days. presto!
Good Luck and have fun!

I tried overclocking at 729 but after about 5 minutes, the buttons on my phone started flashing and my phone froze. Help please?

Sorry for the noob question but where can I find kernels and how can I install them?

Mine froze I just pulled the battery I hope you didn't check the set at boot box as I suggest not to do above if you did and it freezes on start up then look through the forum there is a at least 1 post about it . Hope it works for you. Did you do the computer less z4root that KSmithinNY posted? If so and you followed his instruction you should be running drellisdee kernel. Which is required to run Ubuntdroid properly.
But you can also go to xda website and look other stuff Roms as well.
