Overheating from Wifi Tether

Is it normal for the Optimus to heat up while wifi tethering? I notice that my temps jumped from 87F to 104F right now while tethering and it's getting a little warm on the back.

Yes, tethering will heat up any phone, it is normal. However, I have noticed that Froyo's native tethering seems to stress the phone less than the tethering application.
