Overnight battery drain

Is it normal for the note 5 to lose 8 percent battery overnight while in standby with nothing running in the background??? Thanks

It's possible. My Note 5 is rooted with a custom ROM and I can leave it alone after I've closed all apps immediately after charging and 18 hours later, it's at 92%.

Before I rooted the phone, I had some serious battery drain. With no apps running, it would go from 100% to 32% after 8 hours.
