Android Central Question

I have a car with aux in (3.5mm), i want to play spotify/music in the car using the p20 pro usb-c to a 3.5mm aux cable.

I plug it all in and select aux on the radio open spotify up and the sound plays via the phone speaker and not the car speakers.

I have tried it on 2 other vehicles and i get the same outcome, i have used the original usb-c adapter with a male to male 3.5mm lead and a lead that is usb-c to a 3.5mm male jack plug.

What am i doing wrong????

So you have a USBC (male) to 3.5mm Female adapter? Like this?

Does the phone recognize that the USBC is connected, probably showing a headphone icon or something in the notification bar? With this type of connection I don't think it will be looking for anything to be connected because most 3.5 mm items don't have active feedback. Basically the phone won't know if anything is actually connected or not, I think. Meanwhile you can check this out at home without being in the car even. Simply find a set of headphones and plug them all in. If the music plays through the headphones it should play in the car. If you find that you have to plug the headphone jack into the plug for it to recognize that something is plugged in it's probably your male to male cord.
