I finally got my P40 pro and used it for a couple of days so far, I'm loving the phone. Phone clone app help transferred most of my apps. However, even though Peta search is recommended I still ended up downloading APK Pure. I found APk pure was a better option for me I was able to find more apps on there. Surprisingly google maps still worked and google messages which I've grown to love vs other SMS apps and gboard app over swiftkey.

Things that don't work even though I try to download separately
-Google duo (wasn't sure if it still work had to try)
-Google hangouts (use a lot) - moved on to whatsapp
-Google home (already knew it wouldn't work)
-Google Assistant (already knew it wouldn't work)
-Google drive (already knew it wouldn't work)
-Google photo ((already knew it wouldn't work)
-Google Cal (not working)

There are some apps that require the play store
- Kijiji ( I use a lot :( )
- Some games that I play can't give you a list of that (they will load but point to google play store to save their players settings?)
- Tiles not working
- Shop app not working

There are some apps that I found trying to look for the play store they will give you error right away. But there are some that give you the error but also gives you the option to login using email or Facebook once you log in. The app will work so it's a hit and miss.

So far what I found that's been an improvement ( Bluetooth) for some odd reason my P30 pro was having drop issues with my Samsung buds + it will drop signal whenever I put my phone in my pocket it doesn't do it all the time but when it does it ruins the whole music experience which I use a lot when i'm travelling on the public transit.

As far as photos go I just played with it a bit I'm going to do some more exploring on that.
for wifi not sure if it's because of my version of the phone (bought it from China) the wifi settings is a bit tricky for some odd reason I can't connect to my work wifi. It gives you a bunch of wifi settings to play with which I find a bit odd at home, I don't have that issue. So I guess it's my work security that I need to figure out. That's one quirk I don't like.

what I'm loving so far
- Front camera ( face security really face )
- Finger scan ( feels smoother than P30 pro)
- The battery just as good as P30 Pro
- Feels premium
- Loving the silver frost look

That's it so far
More too come!

The Celia AI is disabled I'm hoping that Canada will be available soon. There are only 6 countries that have Celia assistant enable at this moment. I also noticed that AI night for some reason is not working I'm not sure if it has to do with recent issues that people were having with Night photos so I'm hoping they get that corrected soon. I really like the photos so far I'll provide some samples soon.

Glad you like it. Had too many compromises for me. I only had mine for review and I was pleased to let it go back. But glad you are enjoying yours.

I'm keeping my P30 pro so worst-case scenario I can always go back. For now, it's a waiting game hopefully (if Trump loses they can get their google license back) here's hoping. Or I'm hoping more apps being moved to their App Gallery as well one way or another.

I returned my S20+ and got the P40 Pro. Absolutely loving it. I don't really rely on IOS or Google services so it isn't a problem for me. I managed to use phone clone to transfer all my apps over.

3 days in and I'm already preferring this to the S20+. I haven't noticed any lags or battery drain but I will keep updating this thread with how I'm getting on with the device.

I recommend you to use apk pure and aptoide. Peta search still limited to my taste.

after using their base email app I didn't like it as much because it struggles with my push notification I recommend using Outlook it's the best alternative and it's free! Sorry, the push notification that I'm referring to is with my nova launcher for some reason it doesn't talk to it. Original notification works fine just not with my launcher.

I got my p40 pro on December 17th. The struggle started. I have Google Calendar, Google Keep, Google Maps, Google YouTube, Google Contacts, and Google News on my phone. I had Google Photos but it was so crippled I simply deleted the icon. My major issue was moving photos from the excellent camera on the p40 pro to my chromebook. I had a system where I could move them to a download file and they would appear in Google Photos. After about ten days that quit working. Apparently, Google is taking the opportunity to screw with a competitor. I found another way around but if I tell you what it is, Google might shut that down, too.

A few days ago I was close to reverting to my p30 pro but not now.

The Huawei hardware is, in my unprofessional opinion, outstanding. It's the first time I've ever had face ID work fast enough and consistently enough to actually use it. The display is great. The sound is adequate. When I add an appointment to my calendar or a item to my shopping list using my Google Home Mini the item appears on my cell phone. Contacts I enter with my chromebook go to my cell phone.

I miss being able to receive and send text messages on my chromebook.

But, I'll stick with the Huawei P40 pro for now. Who knows what will happen in the next 12 months.

I got my P40 pro about 6 months ago. I managed to get google services running on it, so I’ve got full access to the entire google library. The only thing I don’t have is notifications for the google apps (it was play services or google notifications) but that’s fine, as having the ability to have google on my P40 pro with the amazing hardware and great user interface is just beyond amazing.
