Pandora automatically starting

I saw there was an update to Pandora recently, so I applied the update. Ever since I applied the update, the application has been starting by itself. I have a small Pandora widget on the home screen, and literally every 15-30 seconds, the widget shows 'loading' and it stays like this until I press the widget. I have done further testing and when I turn on my wireless headphones followed by the bluetooth setting, the Pandora widget changes to 'loading.' None of these issues happened until after the update. I'm concerned that with Pandora now constantly trying to start itself up every 15-30 seconds, that it's going to run the battery down. I've been forced to uninstall the application.

I contacted Pandora support and they wrote back with their "standard" troubleshooting response of clear the application data, change the audio quality, and if none of those work, provide details such as the phone model, android version, carrier, etc. I don't know what that's going to do. I don't want to delete the application data and have to re-add all my stations again.

I hoped that maybe by posting about this issue here, that maybe someone else has also experienced this issue. I don't see anything mentioned about this in the application reviews, but others have mentioned track skipping as an issue since the update.

I'm not a big Pandora user, but it seems like the widget may be causing a lot of this. Any chance the widget isn't essential and a shortcut would work better? Another idea is to try out Action Launcher. I use it, and it has a feature that may help you with this problem. You can put a shortcut on your home screen or in a folder, and use it to create a "shutter". Shutters are on demand one time use widgets that you can make appear when you need them and dismiss them when you're done.
Before you buy it and download it, read my guide so you can understand how it works and see some pictures of my phone with it set up. If you don't like it, don't bother buying it. You may view the guide here: http://forums.androidcentral.com/general-help-how/305515-guide-action-launcher.html

How can it be a problem with the widget, when this issue did not start happening until after updating the application?

I uninstalled and then reinstalled the application. It seemed at first this resolved the problem, but the application is still starting up by itself.

It's not just the widget Pandora is having issues with. Since the newest update between my phone and tablet, it's constantly reloading or cutting songs in half. Give Pandora developers some time to fix the problem. I'm sure they know about it.

It is still happening, and when I kill it or exit, it starts again!

So I have been having this same problem on Android 5.0.1. The Pandora app will automatically launch as soon as bluetooth is turned on. A really stupid feature if you ask me because Pandora destroys battery life. Not as much as Facebook but its up there. Anyways, if you open Pandora and go to settings there is an automatic launch option, turn that off. That resolved the problem for me.

Hope that helps!

Actually, nevermind I have it unchecked and it still automatically launches, Pandora is being uninstalled lol, piece of garbage.
