Pandora music player controller, aod?

I have the controller on my lock screen, but I can't get it on to my always on display. Is there a way to do that?
Even on my lock screen it doesn't work properly. I can pause the music from my lock screen, but then I press the power button again to go to my always on display, and press need to go back to the lock screen, my music controller is no longer on the lock screen so I can't restart the music from the lock screen
In summary, I can pause in music from the lock screen, but then I cannot resume it from the lock screen
But the lock screen isn't that big of a deal, I would really like to be able to get it on my always on display.

I've tried swiping and it shows the controller but when I press play it doesn't work and says that my controller needs some music and to open a music app to play.

yes the music controls are always there regardless if you have a music app running or not.
so you need to start the music app first
