My other threat already told my phones' story. I now suffer from water 'damage'. It's cleaned and working well. Only annoying issue is that the cellular radio drains my battery extremely! It charges slow even when it's off. I already tried airplane mode with no results. Their was a specific code like *#*#36....#*#* but I couldn't turn the radio off. The SD and sim part gets very hot when I do nothing and the simreader doesn't work anymore. Do I need to replace the simreader to fix the cell radio issue or is this not related?

You need to replace the motherboard - at least. The radio, if it has a partial short at the power input point, will continue to overheat and drain the battery, whether it's turned on or off. You can't turn off a short.

There may be other problems as well, so your best bet would be to find a local shop that has a "lost cause" i9300 with a good motherboard and try theirs for a while. Buying a new one, then finding out that the phone needs a lot more repair could end up costing you as much as replacing the phone. (Before you do anything, while the phone is still partially working, BACK UP EVERYTHING. See Backing up an Android Phone.)
