While reading up on rooting my Infuse, it was suggested that partitioning the SD card might be a good thing to do. I understand the benefits of partitioning a drive for a PC but what would be the benefit for a phone? I have a 32GB Class 10 card and I have not noticed anything not working as I would expect. If partitioning makes the entire phone faster then it might be worth it though. If anyone has any insight, I would appreciate any info.
Also, since I have not partitioned the SD card yet, if I do go this route would I just move the data off of the card, use ROM Manager to partition it, and then move the data back? This makes the most sense but which partition does the data get moved back to? Would the apps know where to find everything or would I run into problems by doing this now?
Sorry for all the questions. I have not found anything that really explains the benefits and I want to make sure if I even decide to go this route that I know all the risks (if any).
