password lock

My phone was unlocking itself in my pocket with just the slide. So I turned on the pattern lock. I later turned it off, and now randomly I get the password lock after the slide lock. I don't even have a password setup on the phone. Please help.

So the Require pattern box in the security settings is unchecked correct?

I don't use the password features but I know that the slider screen will unlock if the power button and the menu button are pushed.

Have you tried to reset the pattern with no pattern then uncheck the pattern security option?

Yes I tried resetting the pattern lock and it didn't work. And yes the pattern lock box is unchecked.
