Password retrieval for decryption

In my clamor to protect my device...I can not remember what my password is to decrypt my device. To encrypt is too much of a pain in the ****.

Any idea of how to retrieve a password?

Sorry, I think you're SOL. I'm not even sure if booting into Recovery mode will work on an encrypted device; or if it does, if performing a Factory Reset will undo it. One way to find out...
