Paying Full Price

Hey all. If I have to switch to the Share plans, my bill will go up about $60 a month extra. We need either the 8 or 10GB plan with 3 smartphones and 1 basic. My contract on my Fascinate isn't availible to upgrade until January, but we do have upgrades availible on 2 other lines. We currently have 2 phones with Unlimited data and 1 with a 4GB plan (double data promo). So, if I pay full price for a GS3, do I have to get Share Everything? And would I have to pay an ETF on my line? I would assume no since I wouldn't be extending my contract, but this is Verizon we are talking about. And I could keep unlimited data if I pay full price, correct? I'd rather pay $600 up front for a phone then pay $60 a month extra for the next 2 years.

If you pay full retail you can keep the data plan you currently have.

Or...if you decide you don't want to pay full price, Share EVerythng plans aren't the only option. You could check on a tiered plan, but I suspect with that many phones, you'll probably be better off with the Share plans, providing you don't keep the plan you have.

Share Everything would raise our bill by $60 a month. I just wanted to make sure I can stay on my current plans (including unlimited data) when I pay full price. And that appears to be the case.

If you pay full price, you can keep your unlimited data. No ETF when you pay full price, in your case nothing changes, everything stays the same.

since you have two available upgrades, and only 2 lines with unlimited data, then this is easy. Switch the upgrade to the 2 lines without unlimited data, if necessary. Then upgrade those two lines to the gs3 (or other phone of your choice). You can push the two phones to your unlimited data lines if so desired, and just restore the existing phones back to the two non-unlimited data lines. you can maintain the existing plans, and do not need to switch to shared data if you do it this way.

Of course, if you wanted 4 new gs3, then you would still need to buy 2 at full retail at this time, but the other two can be done via upgrade.

i wonder what happens when there are still lines that are not ready to upgrade.. sounds to me by you paying full price for phone your saving a little over 1,000.00 over a two year period. im locked in to the unlimited.. my line is primary ... what happens when one of the three upgrde theres when there date comes in august,, do i loose my unlimited then or am i locked in until my contract date and all other lines on my account use the share plan.. so confused.. and if I loose my unliited I wonder if it would be better to be on my own and have them go under there own accounts, by moving them off mine or me moving off and keeping them together???

for subsidized 2 year contract upgrades, you can keep all your existing data and voice plans on all non-unlimited data lines. for unlimited data lines, you can keep the same voice and text plan, but you would have to pick a tiered data plan, currently $30 for 2gb per line.

for lines with unlimited data, you have the option of paying full retail and keeping unlimited data. but it doesn't affect the non-unlimted data lines.

i believe the whole plan has to be moved to share everything, or, you may be able to split a family plan into two separate accounts.

Wow, the new plans sure do suck. If i changed my plan, it would be more expensive. i don't really need the unlimited voice and text...
