PDANET+ tethering problem

I rooted my Nexus 10 and have full version of PdaNet+ installed. I tether with an unrooted Razr Maxx. Since rooting when I turn on wifi hotspot the phone says ready but the tablet pops a message that says "Internet not detected on your phone". Sometimes it actually says hotspot is ready but when I try to browse I get the message no internet connection is available. Any ideas, is the rooting the problem? It worked fine before I rooted the tablet.

IIRC I use a PDA net with Foxfi to create a Bluetooth connection between phone and tablet, then on the tablet I have to go Bluetooth, select the phone and set it to use the phone for an internet connection.
