Is there a way to simply open a .pdf in Chrome for Android instead of automatically downloading them? I can open them in Chrome on a PC without downloading. This just wastes space that I have to then delete. I don't see anything in settings.

Thanks!

Remember that mobile OS/apps are not the same as Desktop ones. Chrome can open PDFs on your desktop because it IS downloading the file (to a temp folder) AND Adobe Acrobat has a plug in that works with Chrome to embed Acrobat into a browser window (but you're still using Acrobat INSIDE Chrome for this!). For mobile browsers, however, there are barely any options that support plug ins, and even less, 3rd party services/apps that devote the time and effort to make plug ins for such a small market.

I think what SpookDroid means is that the market for mobile browser plugins is small, not the market for Android users. Or perhaps it was one of the things Google decided to leave out of Chrome for mobile due to the amount of code (or RAM) that would be needed to make it a native feature of the browser.

"small market"? Do you know how many Android phones are out there?

Yup, part of what B. Diddy mentioned, and I meant 'small market' of browsers that do support plug ins (as I said, the main contenders DO NOT, and those few that do, are nowhere near in usage numbers to the main ones, and most importantly, they're only available on Android, which makes developers' efforts a lot less attractive when they can't do the same for the other major mobile platform).
