Performed factory reset on my Dell 7840, now will not validate gmail acct.

Returns immediately to WiFi screen and reactivates wifi, will not validate gmail acct no matter what address I sign in with...

Yes, I am... it connects and shows the connected icon in the upper right corner. It immediately disconnects and goes back to the wifi screen and reconnects each time. I then I enter a gmail account and password and it goes to verify but immediately returns to the wifi screen

Honestly, I don't think you are getting a valid Wi-Fi connection.

Skip the Google account stuff for now; just get to a screen where you can open a browser and see if you can actually connect to a common website like cnn.com. I'll bet you can't.
