Phone App Battery drain

Hi,

Hoping someone here can help. For the last few days, The phone app has been using up more battery than usual, in fact it never used to appear in my usage list. I generally use the phone for texting and calling. Normally only voice calls would appear, but now the phone app is higher than voice calls. I am using the T-Mobile variant. Any help?

In setting>network>more, then click mobile network, system select. You can set the radio to Globle, LTE or GSM

Should it not be set to global? That's what mine is set to. Will this hurt battery life?

It can. It also made my G2 guzzle data.

Global will drain the battery as it keeps all the radios on to search for service. Switch to LTE/CDMA as this is the normal bands to search for in the US
