Phone as mp3 / media player

Im traveling to europe next week, I know I cant use my phone over there but I want to use the camera, mp3 player and media player. Anyone know of the battery life will be any better if I keep it in airplane mode for the entire trip?

Battery life will be much better. I was in Jamaica last week with airplane mode on the entire week. While I didn't use it very often, I only had to charge it once in seven days

do you think watching a movie on it will drain the battery so much that it wouldnt be worth it?

Video is a huge battery drain. If you don't have a charging adapter for where you're going to be, it's not worth it.

id pick up a second battery just in case

I would certainly pick up an adapter, my experience was with very light use. Having the display on will be your biggest drain
