Phone bill large but only using WiFi

My brother's phone is LG-X220g Android V5.1 and his bill is 10 times mine and he doesn't call anyone. He uses Facebook but that's connected via the household WiFi.

So I'm guessing he's downloaded a bunch of stuff that he's being charged for(?). How can I discover what the paid applications are?

Look at the bill. Look at the Play store for purchased apps.

Carriers don't charge for the things you download, they only charge for the amount of data used for anything you download using mobile data. Have him disable mobile data (in Settings/More networks) and he shouldn't find charges for overuse.
