Phone Calls not coming through: Google Voice Problem?

Hi,

I've used Google Voice to manage my texts and messages ever since Sprint announced the full integration a while back.

This weekend, I noticed that I no longer received phone calls to my EVO, but texts (and the Google voice text announcing pending voice mail) came through fine. After a bit of frustration and prepping for a ROM upgrade or hard reset, I noticed that calls were still coming into Google Voice and was able to delete my phone from my Google voice account.

Calls began coming though again, so I guess no real harm (except now I actually have to listen to voice mail).

Has anyone else had a similar problem this weekend (or ever)?

If it matters, I am running Cyanogenmod 7.0.2.1

Thanks!

open gv/settings/uncheck "do not disturb". on all devices you have running it.

Thanks for the suggestion and that was the first thing I checked once I realized calls weren't coming through, but it was never checked.

I've reinstalled Google Voice and it seems to be working fine (calls are coming through). I just wonder if this happens often. I got myself in a slightly embarrassing situation this weekend and would just like to be on guard if it's going to happen again.

Thanks for the response!

This was happening to me all weekend with my EVO 3D. I did not have the the "Do Not Disturb" box checked.

I was not getting texts OR calls. the notification would not show up until I opened the Google Voice app on my phone. I checked and rechecked all the setting and finally deacvtivated the Sprint - GV link going back to my old GV number. Then my test calls would come through.

When you mention that you "reinstalled Google Voice" and it worked, what steps did perform?

I signed myself out of the app, then deleted it, then I signed back in.

It worked for a while, but I don't trust it and don't really want to be in a position where I am missing calls. My last solution was to just keep myself signed out of the app and use Google Voice to send calls to my EVO. So far I haven't had any issues with using it this way.

I think that it came about when I had spotty internet coverage, but OK phone coverage since calls from the Google voice site don't need to be synced through my handset with my data connection.

If you have Google Voice forward either texts or emails to your phone, you shouldn't miss too much functionality.
