Phone cutting out

I am being told my phone keeps on cutting out while I am talking at home. I get great service at home and never had this problem with my HTC one or nexus 4 maybe I have a defective mic anyone else having this problem ?

Based on some of the other discussions here at the the Motorola Forums, there are quite a few others having the same issue, including me. It seems to happen only with the handset mic. Speakerphone and bluetooth don't seem to have the same issue.
