Phone encrypted for Security, dont know password!

I have just restarted my S9, and its oow saying its encrypted for security, and asks for a password... I never set up a password! Anyone know how to get in?? I phoned samsun tech support and they couldnt help

No. No one could know the password but the person who set it. If that was you, you'll just have to think harder. If it wasn't, give the phone back to the owner.

Usually you had to. You may have during setup without realizing.

If it's prompting before even booting the OS this is startup protection. The entire phone is encrypted and can't even boot until it has the code to decrypt and start the boot process.

Right. The encryption of the data in the phone is based partly on the password or email address or whatever it's asking for.
