With phone so new, I would just restore the phone and test fresh afterwards. If your still having issue, if you have another phone in household with same carrier, swap sim and test. If still issue, I'd take it in to carrier store and they can test with a sim.
Thanks guys. So it turned out to be a google voice problem . I had to disable google voice on my phone number under my google account and also had sprint remove it from their system.
