Phone hangs

Roughly a week ago, Verizon pushed an update to my Rezound (factory OS, not rooted, very few extra apps installed). In the past week, I've had the phone sort-of hang on me a few times. It's hard to describe, but it won't do anything. The only other symptom is that when it gets in this mode and I try to swap pages, it gets stuck in between and shows the dividing corner between pages. When I long-press the power button, I get the shutdown/airplane/reload menu, but it won't respond to my request to shutdown. After a few minutes of random poking, it comes back and I can shutdown gracefully and restart cleanly. I can't think of anything that I have done to cause this.

Do you have any idea what this could be?
Do you know if there are log files to examine or diagnostics to try?
Do you have any suggestions for dealing with the situation when it happens?
Do you have any suggestions for preventing it from happening again?
