Hi there. While resurrecting my HTC One M8 [rooted, S-On] I found WiFi wasn't working on a lot of custom ROMs due to the phone needing a firmware update.
It looks as though I need to return to the Stock Recovery for an OTA update. Sounds simple enough. But flashing a stock recovery img, and then telling the phone to boot into recovery, causes it to just return to the fastboot screen.
I tried it with a couple of stock recovery images from different sources in case the image was the issue, but they all had the same result.
Yet when I flashed TWRP that works fine. Normally I'd be happy to stick with TWRP but I understand I won't be able to update my firmware that way. Is this true? Is there a workaround? Any idea what's causing the phone to not boot into Stock Recovery?
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
