UPDATE: After several factory resets and reboots and alot of blood sweat and tears I finally got it going! Still don't know why it happened but at least for now all is well.

Earlier today my phone (original droid not rooted) started doing a force close on every program open. I rebooted and same thing again and I wasn't able to use any programs or make any phone calls. I use My Backup Pro so I did a restore from a while back and same thing.Nothing I did worked so I decided to do a factory reset. did that and now my phone is in an endless loop between the Droid splash screen and the eye. I'm at a loss now as to what to do. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like a hardware failure, if everything was force closing and your phone won't boot up it sounds like your RAM went bad. Your probably going to have to get a replacement.

I only have 2 months left on my contract and I'm hoping to get it going until then. Thanks for the response!

Give Verizon enough grief and I'm sure they will be more than happy to upgrade you early :)

Wow...I'd go back in and talk to someone else, some people that work there are ignorant and won't help you out.

Well the phone is completely dead now...RIP. I found an old Samsung to use for 2 months but it sure makes me miss android!!

Wow. How is it completely dead, whats going on :O?

Everytime I start up the phone it force closes on everything...launcher, google services framework, ..etc...just an endless loop of fc. I have done a factory reset numerous times and it still does it. Is it a hardware or software issue? I am using a Samsung Rogue right now until I can get a new phone in August. I don't mind it but I think I'm going to get burned by the big red V when they change their data plans. In order to be grandfathered in for unlimited you have to already be on unlimited (which I am) AND have a smart phone (which the Rogue is not). I really would like to get the droid going until August.
Any suggestions?

Thanks!!

FYI, Anyone is eligible to upgrade 4 months from the end of the their 1 or 2 year upgrade. I know because I have done this. But if you wait until August will get a better deal. With that said, I would try again or go and online and try to upgrade. Now if you're holding off for a better phone, just keep paying your unlimited data plan for one more month and you should be grandfathered in.

My full term contract is up in Dec so they are giving me my 4 mo in Aug . I'm afraid since the Rogue isn't considered a "smartphone" they may not grandfather me.
Quick question and this shows how much I know about rooting... but if I could get a sdk and super one click on my phone do you think that might help the problem?

Try it. It can't hurt.

No I'm notrooted...I'm afraid to do anything to it until my contract is up in a week. I can at least recieve calls on it but nothing else.
