Phone intermittently starts ringing , for no apparent reason

My Note 20 Ultra, from last week, has this issue - where it starts to play "Over the Horizon" ringtone. It doesn't vibrate during this time.

On screen , I dont see any app running or any notification popping up.

I have done :

Clear the cache
Phone restart
Wipe the cache partition

Didnt help - the phone still rang

Installed :
Nice Catch
Toast Source
Good Lock - Noti star

However, none of these were able to tell me what was causing the phone to play that sound

I have disabled the wifi and mobile data , then it seemed to not ring -- but as soon as re enable it , phone starts ringing.

If someone could please help resolve this- I would really be deeply thankful.

My dad's phone (A50) had this issue.

What I had inadvertently done was turn off notifications for almost all his apps (to keep his home screen clean/clear) and it was calls from WhatsApp that were making the ringtone go off, but they weren't appearing due to the corresponding notification being turned off.

What I had inadvertently done was turn off notifications for almost all his apps (to keep his home screen clean/clear) and it was calls from WhatsApp that were making the ringtone go off, but they weren't appearing due to the corresponding notification being turned off.

Heyy.. Thank you for responding. I did do that .. all notifications for all apps.
Yet the phone starts playing that sound and nothing on the screen.

Truly confused!! So close to doing factory reset, but thats such a pain..

Nope. It doesnt. However, I only kept it in safe mode for 3 -4 hrs.
